Kipona, the city’s Labor Day weekend festival, closes Riverfront Park and City Island for three days, and July Fourth fireworks and summer concerts use the same grounds. Harrisburg Senators baseball at FNB Field runs April through September. The Capitol Complex hosts rallies, inaugurations, and legislative events with security perimeters. Second Street restaurant row and Midtown’s Broad Street Market anchor nightlife and Third in the Burg first-Friday events, and the Whitaker Center and Forum Auditorium program performances. Airport runs to MDT are short, while Philadelphia or Baltimore transfers add two hours each way and possible tolls. Multiple hotel pickups across the West Shore add river crossings.
