Planning a night out in Atlantic City

Most Atlantic City trips start somewhere else. Groups roll in from North Jersey on the Garden State Parkway, from Philadelphia and South Jersey on the Atlantic City Expressway, or from ACY after a flight, then spend the night bouncing between the Boardwalk casinos and the Marina District resorts. Those two areas feel close on a map but sit on opposite sides of town, so a bus that shuttles your group between them saves a lot of cab juggling. Pacific Avenue carries you along the Boardwalk strip, while the Marina District sits off the Expressway near the bay. What Atlantic City groups book it for

Bachelor and bachelorette weekends are the classic Atlantic City booking: a pickup back home, a slow roll down the Expressway, then casino hopping and a late return to the hotel. When to book

Summer is peak: beach traffic on the Expressway and Parkway slows Friday arrivals and Sunday departures, and Boardwalk weekends book early. Fall and winter trade the beach for concerts, fights and conventions, and fleets have more openings outside holiday weekends. New Year's Eve and summer holiday weekends are the hardest dates to get, so lock them in first.

Resorts handle buses differently, so ask your provider where the driver will stage at each casino and text that spot to the group. It cuts down on people wandering the lobby at closing time.
Beat the Friday Expressway crush
Summer Friday afternoons back up heading toward the Shore. Leaving earlier, or later in the evening, can keep your arrival time on track and your hours in check.
Split the Boardwalk and Marina legs
Plan the night as two halves, one on the Boardwalk strip along Pacific Avenue and one in the Marina District, so the bus is not crossing town over and over.
