Quick answer

Tell us the date, the number of riders, and each address, and independent providers working Williamson County can send quotes. Settle the direction first. Plenty of Georgetown trips head south into Austin, and that drive shapes the quote more than anything happening in town.

Your price depends on the date, the city, how many hours you need, the bus and your group size. These come from quotes we have actually sent: the low end up to the middle of the range. Busy Saturdays cost more, quiet weeknights less. Minimum hours, the drive to your pickup, tolls and gratuity all move the final number.

Planning a night out in Georgetown

The historic courthouse square is the natural starting point for a lot of Georgetown plans. Wedding parties get ready at nearby inns and venues, dinner crowds fill the restaurants around the square, and the bus waits a block or two away while everyone finishes. Southwestern University sits just east of downtown, and San Gabriel Park follows the river north of it. Plenty of groups come from Sun City, the large retirement community off Williams Drive, for theater nights, church trips, and outings to Austin. Longer trips leave on I-35 toward Round Rock and Austin. SH 130 runs on the east side as the toll alternative when I-35 is backed up. Give the provider every stop and it can suggest the smoother way.

What Georgetown groups book it for

Weddings drive much of the calendar. Couples book ceremonies at country venues around Georgetown and receptions near the square, which means shuttling guests between a hotel, the ceremony, and the reception with a late return. The Red Poppy Festival brings crowds downtown each spring. Southwestern graduations, parents' weekends, and alumni events create short campus runs. From Sun City, groups plan day trips to Hill Country wineries or Austin shows. And like everywhere in Central Texas, Longhorns home games and Austin concerts pull people south for a night out with nobody driving home.

What moves the price

The drive to Austin is the biggest factor. A bus garaged in Austin bills the ride up to Georgetown and back, so ask where the vehicle starts. I-35 traffic through Round Rock turns a short trip into a long one at rush hour. SH 130 is a toll road, so ask whether tolls are covered. Wedding shuttles with a gap between ceremony and reception get priced either as one long block or as separate runs, so ask each provider to quote both.

When to book

Spring is peak season, with wildflowers, the Red Poppy Festival in April, and weddings nearly every weekend. Fall brings a second wave of weddings plus Texas football Saturdays. Summer heat makes a strong air conditioner essential during long outdoor wedding waits. December evenings on the square draw holiday crowds, so plan pickups a block off the busiest streets.

What we see in real requests

Taken from quote requests people sent us. These are requests, not completed trips.

  • 61% of every request we get is for a Saturday, and another 20% for a Friday. That is why Saturday availability is the first thing to ask about.

    All markets · June 2023 – August 2026

  • Requests peak in April, July, and August, when prom, graduation, and wedding season all land at once. Spring dates are the ones that go first.

    All markets · June 2023 – August 2026

  • 4 hours is by far the most common ask: 71% of the requests that name a length come in at exactly that. Another 18% want 6 hours or more.

Where these numbers come from

The Texas rules worth knowing

The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles states that motor carriers operating intrastate commercial motor vehicles in Texas must register with the TxDMV Motor Carrier Division, including anyone who operates a vehicle designed to transport more than 15 passengers including the driver, and that carriers must hold a valid USDOT number, maintain an active insurance filing in the Texas Motor Carrier Credentialing System (TxMCCS), and keep a current cab card in the vehicle for presentation to law enforcement. Ask any Texas operator for its TxDMV certificate number, then run FMCSA's SAFER Company Snapshot and review FMCSA's passenger-carrier guidance; smaller vehicles may fall under city rules not reviewed here.

Georgetown questions, answered

How much does a party bus cost in Georgetown?

Quotes we have sent across Texas start around $200–$230 an hour, which puts a typical four-hour night at $840–$1,235. Your price depends on the date, the city, how many hours you need, the bus and your group size. Pricing depends on vehicle size, date, total hours, and where the bus starts. If the provider is based in Austin, the drive north shows up on the bill. Wedding shuttles with long gaps price differently from a straight night out. Ask for a quote showing minimum hours, gratuity, and any tolls, and compare quotes for the same route.

Can a party bus pick up wedding guests at a hotel and drop them near the Georgetown square?

Yes, that's one of the most common requests here. Give the hotel address, the ceremony and reception addresses, and the times. Streets around the courthouse square are busy and parking fills on weekends, so ask the venue where a bus can pull up, then use one spot for both drop-off and the late-night return.

Can we take a bus from Sun City to a show in Austin?

Plenty of groups do. Share the Sun City pickup point, the venue address, and the show time. Ask where the driver can drop at the venue and whether the bus waits or comes back at the end. One pickup spot inside Sun City, like a shared community parking lot, works better than several stops at individual homes.

Is Austin-Bergstrom the closest airport to Georgetown?

Yes, AUS is the main commercial airport for Georgetown, over on the southeast side of Austin. The drive drags when I-35 is backed up, so give the provider your flight number, bag count, and arrival time. Ask how delays are handled and whether SH 130 would be quicker at your time of day.

Can we use a party bus for a Southwestern University event?

Yes, for graduations, parents' weekends, and formals. Tell the provider which campus building or lot you're using, since the campus has its own parking rules. Ask the university's events staff where a bus can stop. If guests are staying at hotels along I-35, list each hotel as its own pickup.

Could we plan a Hill Country winery day starting from Georgetown?

Yes. Give the provider each winery address and the order you want them. Wineries west of Georgetown and out toward the Hill Country sit far apart, so ask how many stops fit in your hours. Check with each winery that it welcomes groups arriving by bus and whether it wants a reservation.

What size party bus do most Georgetown groups need?

61% of every request we get is for a Saturday, and another 20% for a Friday. That is why Saturday availability is the first thing to ask about. That's what other Georgetown planners asked for — your own headcount is what decides it. Count everyone who is actually getting on, then add room for luggage, coolers, instruments or formalwear. Ask each company for the legal seated capacity of the exact vehicle they're offering. Most Georgetown requests are for weddings, bachelor parties, and bachelorette parties, and those nights want different amounts of floor space for the same headcount. A bus rated for twenty seats is not twenty comfortable seats in formalwear.
