Dubai stretches a long way along the coast, from Deira and the airport in the north through Downtown and Business Bay to Dubai Marina, JBR and the Palm in the south-west. A night that moves between those areas is a series of highway drives, and the time between them varies sharply by hour. Name each stop as a building and entrance, mark the time that cannot move, and give every provider the same brief so the totals compare.
Venues and loading points in Dubai
Most arrivals here happen at a hotel porch, a mall entrance or a venue drop-off lane rather than at the kerb, and each of those is managed by the property. Coca-Cola Arena, Dubai Opera and the Downtown area around Burj Khalifa run their own traffic plans on busy nights; the Palm and the Marina have their own access arrangements. Ask each venue and hotel where a group vehicle may drop off and wait, and agree a pickup point for afterwards.
Airport transfers in Dubai
Dubai International (DXB) operates three terminals that are far apart and not interchangeable, and Al Maktoum International (DWC) at Dubai South is a separate airport a long way to the south-west. Dates and seasons that tighten supply
New Year's Eve closes Downtown roads for hours around the Burj Khalifa fireworks, and pickups have to be planned around the closures rather than through them. The cooler months from November to March are the busiest season for events, weddings and visitors. Summer heat from June to September makes outdoor waiting a concern. During Ramadan, schedules shift and evenings are busiest after sunset. The UAE weekend falls on Saturday and Sunday.
